What to expect if you book a bridal appointment at Karen Forte...

At Karen Forte, you will be greeted by our staff and a Bridal Consultant will take you and your party into one of our bridal suites. She will chat with you to find out a bit more about what you are looking for, or what you do not want. All bridal parties are offered complimentary refreshments and if you so wish, this can be a glass of champagne to celebrate the occasion!

Then you begin trying on wedding gowns with the assistance of your consultant. It is not uncommon for brides to fall in love with the first dress they try on, but simultaneously, do not worry if it takes a lot of dresses before you find your perfect dress, you will get there eventually! We allocate 90 minutes for each bridal appointment and you are welcome to come back for further visits.

Ordering your dress... 

When we place your order with the designer, you are required to sign an agreement confirming the size, colour, and style of dress you want to order so both yourself and the shop have a copy of what you are wanting to order.

The order is sent off to the manufacturer and 50% of the total cost of the dress is paid when you place your order. The remaining 50% is paid when the dress arrives. A payment plan is available upon request to spread the costs if you so wish.

  Fittings...

When your dress arrives we will ring you, or email if requested, to let you know it is in the shop. We recommend you come in to check and try your dress as soon as possible to ensure you are happy with it. If you leave it with us for a while before trying it and you try it on and there is something wrong, a manufacturer may only accept returns within a specified period. So it's best to be safe and check it as soon as possible.

The balance will be due on the dress and must be paid before the dress is taken away or any alterations are made to the dress. If you need any alterations, you can book an appointment with one of our seamstresses who will pin your dress accordingly. Then you will need a final fitting after the alterations have been completed to check the fit is perfect.
