What to expect at a bridesmaid appointment...

Karen Forte has a variety of bridesmaid designer to offer brides and their bridesmaids a wide selection of delivery times, price points, styles, and colours.

An appointment is always advisable and one of our Bridesmaid Consultants will take you through the collection and advise you with particular styles or colours to meet your criteria. We have sizes 8-20 in stock.

Your bridesmaids can try on any of the bridesmaid dresses to get an idea of what colours and styles suit them best and what suits the bride's requirements. We allocate 60 minutes for an appointment.

Ordering the dress(es).

When you have chosen a style and picked the colour(s), the next thing we do is measure each of your bridesmaids on the bust, waist, and hip, to tally up their measurements to the manufacturer's size chart. We order the best dress size for them and 50% of the cost of the dress(es) will be required upon placing the order.

Most dresses take approximately 12 weeks to deliver and most designers also offer a rush cut service at an additional cost of about £30 a dress for 6-8 week delivery.

Extra material (at an additional cost) and swatches are available upon request.

When your order arrives in the shop, we will give you a ring to let you know.

Fittings.

When the dress(es) arrive, a designated person such as a the bride, bridesmaid, family member etc or all of the above will need to come and check that you are happy with the order as returns are often only accpeted by a manufacturer within a short given period.

If any alterations are needed, you will need to book an appointment with one of our in-house seamstresses who will pin the dress to you - so you need to have the correct shoes and underwear on - and they will alter the dresses at a cost calculated according to how long the alteration takes to complete.

Then a final fitting is required once the alterations have been finished to ensure the fit is perfect.

Any outstanding balances on the dress(es) must be fully paid before alterations are carried out.
