Karen Forte is one of the region's leading specialists in bridal, evening and occasion wear. Being based on the Hertfordshire and Cambridgeshire border on a main road with free parking makes it easy to get to.


There is a beautiful selection of evening dress and prom dresses handpicked especially by Karen and her daughter Willow to provide something different to what you can find on the high street, and more importantly, provide dresses that are unlikely to be seen at the event you are attending.

What sort of dresses do you have?

There is a large selection of long and short dresses. There is a huge variety of styles - low backs, diamante detail, patterned, simple and elegant, big skirts, bright colours, neutral colours. We have a cocktail collection of shorter dresses too for less formal evening functions.

Do you have a doubles list for local events?

We hold doubles lists for all local proms, balls, and events to ensure we do not sell the same dress to the same event. If we don't have a list for your event, we can create one for you.

Do I need an appointment?

No. You can book one if you wish but it is perfectly fine to come along and browse our collection anytime.

How much are the dresses?

The prices of the dresses start from around £150 and go upto £500. Price usually depends on the length, the type and amount fabric used, and the amount of detail on the dress.

Can I have a dress altered?

If you have purchased a dress from Karen Forte you are welcome to utilise our in-house seamstresses to alter your gown. The cost is calculated on how long it takes to complete the alterations. Usually if your dress is not from Karen Forte, we are not able to alter it due to our seamstresses high work load for our customers. However during November, December and until the middle of January this may be possible so is worth checking by giving the shop a phone call.

Do you hire dresses?

No we don't. All our collections in the shop are for sale only.

Do you offer a cleaning service?
 
We can recommend companies who specialise in cleaning dresses but we do not have an in-house cleaning service available.

Do you sell accessories?

Yes. We sell jewellery, shoes, evening bags, tiaras, wraps, gloves, double-sided sticky tape, breast inhancers, cups that can be sewn into a dress or just placed inside, seamless briefs and more!
